In the adolescent stage of growth, secondary sex characteristics such as changes in the external genitals and differences in height and body composition develop.

The PACD study (Physical Activity and Cognitive Development) is a longitudinal study to study the relationship between physical activity and cognitive development in humans across the age of children, adolescents and adults, and is intended to provide a holistic platform for in-depth research into these subjects. 

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between physical activity by assessing the accelerometer of cognitive development over the whole human age range - from children and adolescents to adults. 

Results of the study will help support future health interventions that use physical activity as a way to improve the cognitive development of children, adolescents and adults.

This study was designed to examine whether the presumed effects of physical activity on cognitive development are present in early childhood and adulthood to address the absence of longitudinal studies featuring children with PACD of all ages.

Trends in physical activity can be influenced by the development of secondary sexual characteristics, other physical changes that occur during adolescent growth spurts as well as social and cultural factors. 

There is considerable evidence that extreme stress slows down physical growth and development. 

Harmful pressure can harm the mental health engineering and lead to deep rooted issues with learning, conduct and physical and emotional well-being. 

The physical changes occurring in the brain during adolescence are characterized by the development of higher cognitive functions which are consistent with changes in the brain structure and function, especially in prefrontal cortex and affect the ability to process memory.
